Resources for Promoting SYNC & Audiobooks to Teen Listeners

As you have discovered, the Toolkit page on the AudiobookSYNC site is a goldmine of ready-made posters (both for walls and for your website), banners, press release information, and more. We have some great tools for promotion beyond the Toolkit as well.

Our partner OverDrive has made available the archives of this year's webcast featuring the how's and why's of accessing SYNC's weekly free pair of audiobooks.  Whether or not you were able to attend the webcast, the archives can be a big help both for troubleshooting during the SYNC season and for educating potential SYNC participants now about what they need to prepare. You can share it with fellow staff members, teachers, parents, book group leaders, or anyone you know who is in contact with teens during the summer at such places as the Y.

During the webcast, we mentioned the various social media where we are present year-round and bring you essential SYNC news before, during, and after the SYNC season. You can link to them from here, follow, and--we certainly hope!--participate in sharing your own SYNC stories, experiences, displays, and audiobook listening news. On Twitter, we're @AudiobookSYNC. Our Facebook page is SYNC: Audiobooks for Teens. You can find us on Instagram at audiobooksync. Before the season gets underway, we'll be adding Pinterest boards with this season's covers and this season's talent pool of authors and narrators. You can hear clips from this year's free audiobooks on SoundCloud, too!

There are a couple other resources online for your attention as well as you promote SYNC and audiobooks for a teen listening audience. AudioFile Magazine, our host, has a Tumblr Find Your Next Great Audiobook which is devoted to youth listening. For those wanting audiobook literacy research and suggested listening lists with some curricular ties along literacy as well as content lines, the Audio Publishers Association's literacy promotion initiave, Sound Learning, has a lot to offer.

Summer really is on the way. We can't guarantee when the weather will agree but we can guarantee the SYNC season will usher in a new crop of free audiobooks and teen listening right at 7 am ET on April 26. So explore all these tools and resources and be ready for the listening action!
